Patriotic Pinwheels~June Quilt GroupJune

Red White and Bold
Peg was the host of our June Quilt Group
We all say she is Over the Top and this month  she was really-
"Over The Top"

Our inspiration  was this quilt  made by Peg's neighbor Candice.
  "Louisiana Block"
The fabric suggestion for our project was RED WHITE and BLUE.
Each was different and they all were fabulous.
 Check them out!

One of JoAn's first blocks.
Love the scrappy.

Debbie's first block.
Great Bold Colors.

Mary Ann ready to sew.

Debbie

Jan is finishing a Red and White Two Color Quilt.

Maryann working on a project.

Hedy using Civil  War  prints.

Peg marking for string piecing.

Glenna happy to be sewing.

Peg takes a break to fix our lunch.

BBQ Chicken Salad
(recipe coming soon)
Rolls Fruit
Flag Cake
And Served up Peg Style.

This could go on Pinterest!
Wait, I think that is where she got this idea.

Great Lunch!!!!

Time to Eat.

Peg texted her  son Rob (who was working on a Musical project) to come and have lunch.  Rob and Rob (helping with the Project) had lunch and raved about our quilts and then Peg said
"What about singing us one of the songs you have been working on".
So in the middle of our sewing day we were Serenaded.
The song was - Over the Top ?

Now for ...
Show and Tell
Maryann showing the progress of her rug she started last month.
Good job Maryann!

Kathee is well on her way the this oval Rug.
Amazing Kathee!

JoAn Shows the Star Quilt she is making for her bed. We love everything JoAn does.

Peg's Jelly Roll Race Quilt made with a family group.

If Glenna's Jelly Roll quilt looks like Peg's, it is because they shared fabric to make their own Jelly Roll.

Now for the Pinwheels
Debbie's Completed blocks.
Debbie is so precise that she has numbered each block .

JoAn's Scrappy with Red Dots for background fabric.
A Great Look

Heady's Civil War Prints.
Eleven finished!

Peg is string piecing and well on her way.

Peg's blocks ready for the next step.

Jan's half square triangles

Mary Ann's full of Color.

All different and each one so Patriotic.
Love this project.
Peg thanks for a great day.
We missed some of our favorite ladies.
Hope you were having fun.

Tip of The Day!!!
Pilot  Frixion Erasable Gel Pen.
Not really for quilting but the best thing since the rotary cutter.
Mark fabric and when you press (everyone needs to press)  it disappears!
Glenna used these to mark the diagonal lines.
This is a project I  am doing with my girls.
I marked the grid with the Pilot pen and the girls glued a 5 inch square in the grid.
This is the way I get my girls to "quilt".
