March Quilt Group 2010

We had a great quilt group this month. Jan was our host.
Thank you Jan!
We missed Vickie, Jeanene and Rachelle this month.
Jan started out with this cute quilt made from charms squares. "Cindy Lou Who"
We all loved her BOM Be Loving Block. Bright colors.

JoAn is just about finished with a quilt she is making for her daughter's new baby boy.

And a quilt she is making for her Mother "Something? Pink"
Easy pattern out of great fabrics

JoAn's Be Loving Block

Maryann has been going to yard sales. She found some great quilts.
We have a new slogan
"I buy quilts for $20.00"

Started $20.00 she got this one for $10.00

$20.00 for this interesting quilt

And this crazy scrap quilt $20.00

Maryann and a friend are making a quilt for a boy in Florida
"Michael".

PEG finished her two pinwheel quilts
"Donna's Thimbleberries Retreat Quilt"

And her "Salvage the Selvage" Quilt.

"Gobble Gobble"

Hedy is making these adorable skirts for the girls in her Primary Class
Who does that?
The girls are going to love them.

Ruth brought a bag idea made from strip piecing.
Great idea

Glenna's "Be Loving Block"

Also an idea for the Mesa Quilt Show.
Die Cut Fabric and Appli-Glue
Glue the fabric on a whole piece of fabric and let your quilter do the rest.
We will see if this works.
Glenna was able to do some handwork on a road trip.
Two strips of Mother-in-law Blocks.
And finished
12 Dresden Plates.

Cristi finished some quilts she started a while back.

Made with a panel.

This sweet quilt she made for Baby Avery.

"Hi Ho- Cherry O" Charm Pack

Kimber's favorite spot.

A fun surprise! Jan and JoAn's niece Emily brought us some of her famous
"Oreo Truffles"

Thanks Emily!

They were Fabulous!!!!!
Great night
Thanks Jan.

Editor's tip for applique (fromBetter Homes and Gardens)

"Test light-color applique fabrics by placing a dark foundation fabric behind them. If the dark fabric is visible, back applique fabrics with muslin before cutting out patterns. To back with muslin, iron a piece of fusible web to wrong side of fabric."

I should have read this before I made my be-loving block. Good to know..
