May Quilt Group 2014

Jan was the host for our Quilt Group this month.
We always love to go Jan's home to see what she is decorating or collecting.
She served a Yummy Yogurt Bar (forgot a picture).
Thanks Jan

Jan started our Show and Tell with her
 "String Quilt"
Look how cut the pink and Yellow border matches the blocks.

A Quilt as you go runner.
She said it is easy enough for a  8 or 9 year old.

Jan finished this Fabulous Red and White Quilt
Love, Love Love it!

Kathee's sewing this month has been getting prom dresses ready for her girls.
The Blue dress she made without a pattern WOW.
The pink was modestly altered.

Donna is always good for a Yard Sale Deal.
We are  all obsessed with Chenille lately and
Donna found a real bargain for $5.00.  Really?
Why does Donna always find all the deals?
Can't wait to see what she makes with this.

Another bathrobe with a pretty Chenille  design down the front.

Donna just picked up 3 quilts from the quilter.
#1. Donna helped her daughter with a quilt for new baby boy.
Awesome!

#2. Love a Scrappy Quilt.
Just 3 1/2 -4 in  squares.

#3. Another Scrappy Quilt from a Layer Cake.

Jan Shows Chenille she bought for pillows and other projects

Jan's Friend and neighbor LuAnn, brought this Jean Quilt made with a new technique.  No backing needed.

 Wrong sides together,
Add a 3 1/4 in strip of fabric folded.
Top stitch of folded side.
Make a long strips.
Sew long strips together the same way.
Another clever Jean Quilt from LuAnn

Using her Granddaughters old jeans with Minky on the back.

Mary Ann brought patterns to share.
Mary Ann also told us how she prepares her quilts for quilting.
Top and Back  on a hanger and a tag.
