August and September Quilt Group

Happy Birthday to Jan at our Quilt Group
Jan's  Birthday was on the day we planned quilt group.
We were all able to celebrate with  her.

JoAn was our wonderful host
Luann started our show and tell with her red barn.

She is doing her Farm Girl Blocks in Red White and Blue. Fabulous.

Hedy brought a couple of bags to show what they make at the Humanitarian group she attends every week.
These bags are made for Newborns in Need.
Vicki took a page out of Donna's book and bought this quilt top for a great price.
 Awesome Small Dresden plat quilt.
What a great find.
We were glad to see Kathee again.
Showing us a good deal on swaddled fabric.

Kathee is getting a jump on a baby quilt for a new grand baby.
Sweet little girl blanket.
Even the Back is great
Debbie is showing one of 6 "Eye Spy" quilts.
She is making one for each family.
Look at this colorful quilt Debbie made for her 8 year old granddaughter.
The best part is it is made from scraps from other quilts.
 I love scrappy quilts
We had to take a picture of Mary Ann's bag she brought her projects in. (I don't know why I got closed eyes in these pictures)
The cute flower was over the top.
Mary Ann has made Pigs, pigs and more pigs. Can't wait to see this finished quilt.
Great color choice for this quilt.
Awesome!
In honor of school starting,
I am trying finish this alphabet quilt.

I will probably add a scrappy binding.
I have been loving the Farm Girl quilt blocks by Lori Holt. While I was sewing the Farm Girl blocks I remembered the Farmers Wife Quilt I started a couple of years ago.I told myself I had to finish the Wife before I could work on the Girl.
It was good motivation because My Farmers Wife is ready for boarders and
I am up to date on Farm Girl.

The Cupcakes for Jan celebration
JoAn made these cute pin-bowls for each of us.
I guess a gift for Us and Jan on her birthday.

Another wonderful evening together with good friends...
That just happen to love to Quilt!

March Quilt Group 2014

March Quilt Group started early this month with some attending the Mesa  AQG 2014 Quilt Show.
After the show we went to JoAn's for our "show and tell".  JoAn knew we would be hungary and she had Soup and bread bowls ready for us.
It was delish!

JoAn added fruit, veggies and fabulous caramel bars.
We were honoring our dear Friend
 Rachelle.
Rachelle is moving this month and we gave her a little send off from our group.
We will miss Rachelle and her creative quilting.
She promises to keep us posted on the blog what she is working on.

We each made a block for her to remember us by.

We will miss you Rachelle and wish you well!

Rachelle did bring some things she has been working on.
This is her progress on her "Red Chair Quilt"
She is well on her way.

Maryann O. started Rachelle on these hexagons.
Rachelle has done all this with hand sewing, mostly while traveling.
Love the colors.
Maryann O. found this  hand applique at a yard sale.
She is thinking of turning it into a quilt.

Vicki has a new granddaughter and has been making these adorable  skirts.
She brought about 20 to show.
So Cute!
She had even little bitty ones for one year old.

JoAn has making Dresden  Plate Quilts
This one she bought the blocks on E-Bay  (Edith Bay) and she created this wonderful quilt.

This is one she made out of  really great fabrics.

Love the boarder!

Glenna  (Me) started some of the letters From the
Moda Spell it with Fabric.
They go together so fast.
More to come next month.

Up to date on the Quilty Fun Sew Along with Lori Holt.
I couldn't wait for  Monday to finish another set of blocks.

Kathee finished the Quilting on a quilt for her
Granddaughter.
It looks wonderful!

Jeanene also finished the center of her Sew Along.  Different fabrics and such great combinations of color.
Love this pattern.

Jeanene made this Swoon pattern block.
It is a big block so Jeanene will make it a one block top.  Perfect for a table topper or wall hanging.

Hedy want to show one of her favorite tools.
She uses it to pick up thread, patterns etc.
 Saves the back while sewing.

Hedy is finishing the binding on the fun quilt for a friends Granddaughter.
After "Show and Tell"  JoAn showed off some of her other projects Projects.
This fabulous quilt hangs in her Hallway.

We all had to check out her bathroom to see her Chenille Shower Curtain.
So Creative.

These are some of her finds.
We call it  "rescuing" quilts.

Fun, Fun night Thanks JoAn!
